Marthia Fuller

Marthia is a PhD student who hails from Richmond, VA. She received a BA in Music Theory/Composition from the University of Richmond (2005), another BA in African American Studies from Virginia Commonwealth University (2009), and her MA in Afro American Studies from UCLA (2011). Before entering the PhD program, she worked as a Music Teacher and a Learning Specialist. Marthia's primary areas of research interest are music and popular culture, critical race theory, and the construction of identity. At UNM, she teaches AMST 185: Intro to Race, Class, Ethnicity.
